“The whole essence of nonviolence, compassion,
service, and prayer have all been very much a part of my life.
So I read a lot of materials that come out of the spirituality
movement because I think if we are not spiritually whole, then
we can’t do this work—I mean I have been doing this
work for over thirty years, and if my spirit were not centered
in it, I would have suffered classic burnout.
“I don’t
have a choice. I just feel that it is part of my spirituality,
part of my purpose; it is part of being in this world at this
time with so many great needs, and this is my real calling.” |
